The problem
Ad slots and modules pushed the story below the fold, and the reading experience on mobile was unusable.
The approach
Set a strict typographic scale, gave the lead story the whole first screen, and moved secondary modules into a right rail that collapses under the article on small screens.
Outcome
- Article body reaches the first screen on every breakpoint
- A reusable set of 9 editorial layout blocks
- Lighter pages: fewer blocking scripts, lazy media by default
