The problem
The old app buried playback controls under three levels of navigation, and every new feature added another tab. Session length was dropping.
The approach
I mapped the five real jobs users came for, collapsed them into a single now-playing surface with a persistent mini-player, and built a 12-column token-driven system so new features slot in without new tabs.
Outcome
- Navigation depth reduced from 3 levels to 1
- A component library of 48 tokens and 24 components
- Handoff-ready specs for iOS and Android in one system
